Chalet and Barn

Grand Clé, L'Etivaz is a 300-year-old dairy farm renowned for producing the world-famous L'Etivaz cheese using traditional methods. In the summer of 2023, we constructed a new stone barn and chalet with dedicated wine cellar in a random rubble style with traditional 'hot lime' mortar for Traditional Bati Construction GMBH. The walls are now set to be rendered with earth-lime mortar, a vernacular technique that provides essential protection for livestock against the harsh mountain winds.
